EXAMPLE OF A WING-TYPE LANTERN CLOCK, WHICH HAS AN ANCHOR SHAPED PENDULUM PLACED BETWEEN THE GOING AND STRIKING TRAINS. THE WING-SHAPED PROJECTIONS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CASE ARE TO ALLOW FOR THE PENDULUM'S SWING, WHICH MAY BE VIEWED THROUGH THE GLASS PANELS. [REF. 1 P.79] - Area Notes

- ORNATE OPENWORK METAL PANELS DECORATE TOP FRONT & SIDES OF CLOCK, AROUND CHIME DOME. SIMILAR SWIRLING MOTIFS ETCHED ON CENTRAL AREA OF CLOCK FACE. CRESCENT MOON-SHAPED KNOBS PROVIDE ACCESS TO CLOCK INTERIOR FROM BOTH SIDE PANELS. FINIALS TOP DOME AND FOUR UPPER CORNERS; CLOCK RESTS ON 4 BALLFEET: REAR FEET FEATURE ELONGATED POST EXTENDING SIDEWAYS, TO PROPRER LEFT (FUNCTION UNKNOWN).
