RF ammeter design prior to thermocouple and milliammeter design. Probably moving iron technology, flush type panel AC ammeter. Popular model used in a lot of General Radio equipment etc. The pointer is very thin and the arrow is perforated allowing for good legibility from several meters away. The pointer is balanced in a very inexpensive way using a piece of sheet metal. The construction looks rugged. - Area Notes
