This car was made on March 16, 1966, the last day of production for Studebakers made in Canada since 1963. It is among the last ones produced. The engine was made by Mckinnon in St. Catharines, Ontario. Studebaker has a long history in Canada which dates back to 1911 with the foundation of the Studebaker Corporation of Canada. This plant closed in 1936 due to tariff changes, but Studebaker returned to Canada in 1948, this time in Hamilton.
