USERS LIKED THE TELEPHONE'S EXTERNAL STYLING: A VOLUME ADJUSTABLE RINGER, A FLAT HANDSET WHICH WAS EASILY PROPPED UNDER THE EAR, AND LETTERS PRINTED AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE DIAL RATHER THAN ON THE DIAL FACE. TECHNICALLY, THE SET WAS CAPIABLE OF PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY TRANSMISSION, AND EFFICIENT DIALING & RINGING OVER LONGER DISTANCES WITH FINER GAUGE CABLES. (REF. 2)

"Northern Electric/ PATENTED 1954 1955 1960/ MADE IN CANADA" cast in raised print on telephone body casing back, below cradle. Dial faceplate marked 1 through 0, A through P, R through Y, and "OPERATOR". "MADE IN CANADA" stamped into baseplate. "LOUD" with left facing directional arrow, "64", and C/D/ 5000" stamped in black ink on baseplate.6
Missing: APPEARS COMPLETE.
Finish: SMOOTH BLACK MOLDED SYNTHETIC CASING AND HANDSET. BLACK METAL DIAL. OFF-WHITE MARKINGS ON DIAL FACEPLATE. SILVER AND GOLDTONE COLOUR BASEPLATE. SMOOTH BALCK COVERING ON [CURLY] HANDSET AND CONNECTION CORD.
