PORTABLE, IN MANY CASES SIMPLY MEANT THAT THERE WAS A HANDLE ON THE TOP OF THE CASE. ALL SUCH SETS WERE AC OPERATED (USED THE MAINS) SO THAT PORTABLE MEANT THAT THE SET COULD BE MOVED FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER. THE ANTENNA (RABBIT EARS) HAD TO GO ALONG AS WELL & BE ADJUSTED IN THE NEW LOCATION. - Area Notes
