HANDWRITTEN ON FRONT: 'AK'/ TYPED ON SHEET ATTACHED TO BOTTOM AND REPEATED IN CURSIVE ON BACK: 'Suspected magnesium deficiency in field grown/ strawberries - seedlings - at C.E.F./ The large leaf show the earlier symptoms,/ characterized by change ofthe normal deep green/ colour in the interveinal areas to yellow-green./ The smaller leaf has turned to pale greenish/ yellow, with dark green pigmentation remaining/ only in the veins and the area immediately ad-/ joining them. Note, also, the turned up edges of the leaves, which makes them more or less/ salver-shaped./ July 31, 1950'
