This is a Canadian developed & manufactured Telidon graphics decoder-terminal. The Telidon program began on August 15, 1978 and ended on March 31, 1985.

Function

This Microtel VTX202 terminal computer was used to receives, decodes & displays Telidon graphic images.

Technical

This terminal was usually designed for a business environment and used a Norpak display board. It also had a built-in modem. With a good connection, like those found in a laboratory or an office situation, it was possible to use interactive software with this computer terminal. In 1983, the North American Presentation Level Protocol Syntax (NAPLPS) graphics language develop from the Canadian Telidon system was formalized, ratified and adopted as a world standard for graphics transmission by computer.
