- lettering on adhesive label affixed to inside front cover reads: "R-188936 LORIMER H.S./AGE 20/- NOTES AND DRAWINGS -/(DEDERONTO)/LINK INSTRUCTORS COURSE - BEGAN NOV 1/43"; title page reads: "CREATING INSTRUMENT PILOTS IN THE/LINK TRAINER/[photo]/Self + Chief Instructor/1944 - Brandon S.F.T.S."; lettering hand written in pen on first page reads: "Note/there were no text-books for/Link Instructors./Students had to compile their/own Text Book as the course/progressed. (3 months - Deseronto, Ont.)./Students were given grades for their/Text Books upon graduation./All graduates were given Sgt. stripes,/and assigned to Flying Training Stations./Flight/Sgt. Lorimer/Course consisted of classroom lectures, experiences in Link/and at Instructor's desk, procedures lf all kinds, 20 hrs/flying in Cornells - (10 under The Hood) - to also/put in 10 hrs. flying time a month - with F. Instructors/ while stationed!"
