- lettering on certificate reads: "TEMPORARY/George by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom/of Great Britain and Ireland, and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas, King, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India, &c. To Our Trusty and well beloved/Sigurdur Victor Sigurdsson Greeting./We, reposing Trust and Confidence in your Loyalty and good Conduct, Do/by these Presents Constitute and Appoint you to the Honorary Rank of/Second Lieutenant in Our Royal Air Force from the date of your demobilization./And We do hereby give and grant You full Power and Authroity to/have, hold, and enjoy your said Honorary Rank accordingly, together/with all and singular the privileges thereunto belonging. And We do/hereby Command all Our Officers and Airmen whom it may concern to/acknowledge you as an Honorary Second Lieutenant as aforesaid./Given at Our court at Saint James's the First day of/January 1920 in the Tenth Year of Our Reign./By His Majesty's Command, Warrington & Co.
