Markings: lettering printed below image reads: "From a painting in the LEACH CORPORATION HERITAGE OF THE AIR COLLECTION/THE HI-JACKING HERO/It was August 18, 1918. Lieutenant Willis Fitch, American attached to the Royal Italian/Air Force, switched places with an Italian pilot for a surprise daylight raid on the heavily-/defended Austrian naval base of Pola. His plane, a Caproni night bomber, was weighted/down with one ton of bombs and just enough fuel for the 240 mile round trip. The surprise/worked. Fitch and his fellow raiders dropped 60 tons of bombs on the port city of Pola./C 1962 LEACH CORPORATION LITHO IN U.S.A."
