GE'S SECURITY SNAP SOCKET WAS DESIGNED FOR USE IN FIXTURE WORK, WHERE INSTALLING OR REPLACING ORDINARY SCREW-JOINTED SOCKETS WAS DIFFICULT. THIS TYPE OF SOCKET COULD BE CONNECTED WITHOUT HAVING TO TIP OR BEND THE SHELL, SOMETHING DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE INSMALL OR CONFINED SPACES, AND FULLY ASSEMBLED ONLY AFTER INSTALLATION. - Area Notes
