THIS COLLECTION CONSISTS OF OVER 7500 ARTIFACTS, AND IS THOUGHT TO BE THE LARGEST & MOST COMPREHENSIVE IN CANADA. IT WAS DONATED IN ITS ENTIRETY TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY IN 1992.
Function: TO SUPPORT AND SECURE A LAMP OR OTHER DEVIE TO AN ELECTRICAL FIXTURE.
Technical: EXAMPLE OF SCREW TYPE SOCKET WHICH PERMITS LAMP BULB TO BE FIRMLY SEATED WITHOUT HAVING TO SNAP, PULL OR BEND THE DELICATE FILAMENTS. KEY SWITCH ALLOWS LAMP TO BE TURNED ON/OFF AT SOURCE, IN THE ABSENCE OF A WALL OR LAMP BASE SWITCH.
