Technical: WINCHESTER MEASURES WERE CENTURIES OLD BRITISH MEASURES, LEGALIZED IN 1497, USED IN BRITAIN AND ITS COLONIES UNTIL IMPERIAL MEASURES REPLACED ALL OTHERS IN THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY.
