Function: USED AS MAIN OR PRIMARY SOURCE OF ARTIFICIAL LIGHT, FOR PHOTOGRAPHY.
Technical: THIS LIGHTING UNIT USED BY KARSH AS THE MAIN LIGHT SOURCE FOR HIS STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHS. IN THE PRELIMINARY, OR STANDARD ARRANGEMENT, FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER, THIS LIGHT WAS PLACED ON THE RIGHT, APPROX. 4 1/2 FEET FROM, AND SLIGHTLY BEHIND, THE CAMERA. ON IT'S STAND IT STOOD APPROX. 6 FEET HIGH AND WAS FITTED WITH A MYLAR DIFFUSING SCREEN (1998.0980.1). THIS ARRANGEMENT WAS SUBJECT TO CHANGE, AS DETERMINED BY MR. KARSH AT THE TIME OF THE ACTUAL SITTING. (SEE NOTES BY JERRY FIELDER, IN SUPP. INFO. FILE 970309).

Finish: Casing exterior, including shields, painted navy blue; interior of box painted white; reverse of shields is navy blue; 5 opaque glass bulbs have silver metal screw sockets; black synthetic ciovering on electrical cord.
