Function: REVOLVING PART OF ELECTROMAGNETIC MECHANICAL DEVICE SUCH AS AUTOMOBILE GENERATOR, IN WHICH ELECTRICAL-MAGNETIC FORCE IS INDUCED.
Technical: EARLY DRUM TYPE ARMATURE IN SINGLE SHORT-SHAFT DESIGN, CONFIGURATION WHICH WOULD BECOME STANDARD IN 1930S & 1940S FOR BI-POLAR DC AUTOMOTIVE GENERATOR DESIGN. AS HIGHER GENERATOR OUTPUTS WERE REQUIRED, CORES WERE WOUND WITH LARGER WIRE & BETTER INSULATING METHODS CAME INTO USE (REF. 1).
