FAIRLY RARE EXAMPLE OF PARTICULAR TYPE OF CURRENT MEASURING APPARATUS. ANDRE BROCA (1862-1925) WAS A PROFESSOR AT L'ECOLE POLYTECHNIQUE IN PARIS: HE CREATED THIS DESIGN TO OVERCOME THE EFFECTS OF VARYING MAGNETIC FIELDS IN THE VICINITY OF THE METER. KNOWN AS THE "MOVING VERTICAL MAGNET TYPE" GALVANOMETER, MAGNETS WERE INCORPORATED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO INCREASE THE STRENGTH OF THE POLE ACTING ON THE CENTRE OF THE MOVING COIL. (REF. 1) - Area Notes
