TUNING FORK IS PART OF AN APPARATUS FOR GRAPHICALLY COMPOUNDING TWO VIBRATORY MOTIONS. THE FORK HELD A SMALL GLASS PLATE IN THE "T" BRACKET: THE SLIDING WEIGHT ON THE OTHER ARM COUNTERED THE GLASS PLATE DEVICE. ASECOND FORK WAS FITTED WITH A SMALL STYLUS. BOTH MOTIONS COMBINED ON THE PLATE TO PRODUCE A COMPOUND VIBRATION. - Area Notes
