Example of anti-G suit [cutaway pants style] used by Canadian Forces aircrew flying CF 18 and CF 5 aircraft c. 1986- 1989 [and possibly later]. [Ref. 3] To be worn with flight suit style 2002.0616 Part of a large collection of medical artifacts, archival material and trade literature transferred to CSTM in 2002 from the former History of Medicine Museum, Toronto, ON. Originally donated to Museum of the History of Medicine, Academy of Medicine by Defence & Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine via Capt. W. Lyle in 1989. (Ref. 2) - Function

- Mfr's label reads "CSU-15/P ARAMID, CUTAWAY/ ANTI-G GARMENT/ SIZE: SMALL LONG/ MIL-A-81905C (AS) TYPE II/ CONTRACT NO. 8PC84-00613/ IRVIN INDUSTRIES CANADA LTD./ SER. NO. 03176/ DATE OF MANF. MAR 27 1986/ NSN 8475-01-037- 2011". "Small" handwritten in blue ink on reservoir tab, near waistband. "Small/ Long/ -06/ [illegible]" printed by hand in blue ink on paper tag tied to zipper pull. "TALON" stamped into metal zipper pulls and pull mountings. "AIRLOCK INC./ MILFORD, CT" and "MS-22011-2" stamped in off-white on air-lock connection. UHN catalogue no. "989.11.1" printed on small white label sewn inside waistband. White coated paper label sewn inside front waistband reads " THIS OUTERSHELL IS FABRICATED FROM AN INHERENTLY FIRE RESISTANT MATERIAL THAT DOES NOT MELT OR DRIP. CAN BE/ LAUNDERED WITHOUT LOSING ITS FIRE RESISTANT PROPERTIES AND NO RETREATMENT IS NECESSARY./ WASH WITH MILD SOAP AND LUKEWARM WATER NOT OVER 120 [degree symbol] F. PLUG AIR INLET PORT SECURELY. DO NOT/ IRON OR DRY CLEAN."
