For close to a century, it has been possible to find a prize in every box of Cracker Jack. Billions of these prizes have been given away in the U.S and Canada, where Cracker Jack was produced by the Walter M. Lowney Co. Ltd of Montréal. Among these prizes were a series of cards depicting aicraft flown by Allied countries during the Second World War. As was to be expected, most aircrafts depicted are either British or American. However, there are some French and Soviet aircrafts. Twenty or so aicrafts on the cards can be seen on display of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum or in the storage wing. As popular as Cracker Jack was in the U.S and Canada, these prizes became collectibles. Walter M. Lowney's Canadian branch went into business in the late 1890's and a factory was built in Montréal in 1905.
