Expedition 34/35 was Canada’s second long-duration mission on board the International Space Station (ISS) from 18 November 2012 to 13 May 2013. Chris Hadfield was the sole Canadian astronaut on board and commander of Expedition 35. - Function
-
To carry in commemoration of the Canadian Space Agency and Chris Hadfield’s participation in Expedition 34/35 on board the International Space Station in 2012-2013. - Technical
-
This commemorative bag is designed to look like “world tour” concert merchandise in honour of Chris Hadfield’s love of music and Expedition 34/35’s emphasis on art. It is also a play on the fact that while aboard the International Space Station (ISS) one is literally touring around the world. The main design on the shirt is a guitar with the top of the guitar, called the headstock, designed to look like the ISS. The three stars to the left of the guitar hold a double meaning, as they represent Hadfield’s three children as well as his three voyages into space. To the right of the guitar a large and small arc represent Earth and the Moon respectively, with the large arc containing the words “Tournée Mondiale,” and “World Tour.” Chris Hadfield’s name, the Canadian Space Agency website URL, and “Expedition 34/35” appear below. - Area Notes
