- Printed on the front of the card: "POTASH/ This sample bag contains Sylvinite, the ore from which potash is/ refined. The Sylvinite from the Agrium mine at Vanscoy contains/ typically 40% KCl, 55% NaCl and 5% insolubles./ The reddish colour is due to a small percentage of Iron Oxide in the/ ore. Sylvinite is the "official mineral" of Saskatchewan./ The Saskatchewan ore body was formed when an ancient sea/ evaporated approximately 350 million years ago during the middle/ Devonian period./ Agrium"/ Printed on the back: "SASKATCHEWAN POTASH FACTS/ - Saskatchewan has 40% of the world's potash reserves and is the/ top producer./ - The recoverable reserves are estimated to be 130 billion tonnes/ muriate of potash./ - The Agrium potash operation started in 1969. This operation is/ one of ten potash producing facilities in Saskatchewan./ - Agrium has an annual productive capability of 1.73 million tonnes of muriate of potash (KCl)./ - Agrium Potash markets 75% of its production in North America/ with the other 25% marketed offshore./ - Ninety-five percent of potash production is consumed as a/ fertilizer."
