The visit of the British rigid airship R.100 to Saint-Hubert airport in 1930 was one of the great aeronautical events that took place in Canada during the interwar period. Photo postcards were very popular and fairly cheap souvenirs for events like this one. According to the donor, the folder was in a box of mementos that belonged to her late mother, who grew up and lived in Ottawa all her life. La visite du ballon dirigeable britannique R 100 à l'aéroport de Saint-Hubert en 1930 est un des plus grands évènements en aviation au Canada dans la période d'entre-guerre. Des cartes postales imagées étaient des souvenirs populaires et abordables pour commémorer des évènements comme celle-ci. Selon le donateur, ce dossier était dans une boîte remplie de différents souvenirs qui appartenait à sa mère qui est maintenant décédée. Sa mère a vécue à Ottawa toute sa vie. - Function

- Blue cardboard paper envelope with black text. The outside contour of the envelope has some brown discoloration, likely from humidity stains. Four perforated white postcards with images are stuck onto the inside of the envelope. The four postcards are also stuck to one another. Under each image, there is a small text description written in black. The back of each postcards are white with black text and a black crest. Enveloppe bleu en papier de carton avec de l'écriture noire. La bordure de l'enveloppe a de la décoloration brune en raison d'humidité. Quatre cartes postales perforés avec des images sont collées à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe. Les quatre cartes sont aussi collées un avec l'autre. Sous chaque image on retrouve une courte description écrit en noir. Le derrière de chaque carte postale sont blanches avec un emblème noir et de l'écriture noire.

- There are four photo postcards. - The first is an image of the gallery, staircase and dining room. - The second is an image of the lower balcony. - The third is an image of the airship approaching the mooring mast. - The fourth and final image shows the airship at the mooring mast at Saint-Hubert.
