- War record - May 1944 - Defence Minister inspects newest type of hospital car - "I think it is a great credit to the Canadian National", said Col. The Hon. J.L. Ralston, Minister of National Defence, when he and a group of high ranking Army officials completed their inspection in Ottawa recently of the fourth "hospital on wheels" to be built by the Canadian National Railways. Colonel Ralston is seen attaching the extension cord for the call bell system for one of the 28 beds in the air-conditioned "ward", as Col. G.C. Currie, (right), Deputy Minister of National Defence (Army), watches the results with interest.
