- Caption
- The Boeing Aircraft prototype Canso A, RCAF 9751, was first flown from Vancouver on 26 July 1944, by Patrick Mathew Howard and co-pilot Jack Wright. The following day it was named Athlone by Mrs W C Woodward, wife of British Columbia's Lieutenant Governor, and then the official first flight was made by the same crew.
