Domestic Craft in Quebec - Wall pieces, the making of which is being demonstrated by Anne-Marie Matte of St. Basile in Portneuf County, Quebec, is a development towards finer work. In this instance, the artist is depicting a winter scene on linen, the needle being filled with fine flax thread. In the Province of Quebec, there is a large crop of flax, the cultivation of which has become profitable since the war upset previous sources of supply for the manufacture of linen.
