- War record 863 - A welcome army of invasion is the great force of United States soldiers now cutting the Alcan Highway through Canada's wilderness to Alaska. Through bushland, across muskeg and rivers, a vital artery in North America's network of defence is feeding weapons and supplies to the north. Through this hamlet in the Gold Rush Days passed thousands of cattle, driven in from the Pacific Coast to Dawson City. Their trails are still to be found. Today, the new Alcan Highway Route leaves more vivid impression.
