- Six originals still on Prince Robert: The six "originals" who have served in H.M.C.S. Prince Robert since she was first commissioned in June 1940, after conversion from a luxury ship to an auxiliary cruiser, and who have stuck with her since her re-commissioning and conversion as Canada's first anti-aircraft cruiser, are shown here. From left they are: AB D. Pritchard of Vancouver, Chief Electrical Artificer, M.D. Butt of Victoria, Chief Petty Officer, Stoker W. Kerry of Vancouver, Warrant Boatswain, F.H. Moist of Winnipeg, Chief Engine Room Artificer, R. Lang of Vancouver and AB G.F. Hill of Calgary. The six "originals" have sailed nearly 200,000 miles on the Prince Robert, roughly ten times around the world, ranging from Esquimalt to South America, to Fiji Islands, to New Zealand, Hong Kong, the Aleutian Islands and the United Kingdom.
