- 7,000 cubic yards of rock go sky high. Huge boulders fell for half a mile around, but much of the rock disintegrated in the heat of 30,000 pound dynamite charge. It took the water bore six minutes from the second of explosion to fill the cut and reach a height where it tumbled over the spillway.
