SUCH MACHINES SUCCEEDED EARLIER WORD PROCESSORS WHICH WERE ORIGINALLY ELECTRIC TYPEWRITERS WITH MEMORY; THE PROLIFERATION OF SUCH DEVICES WAS PART OF THE OFFICE AUTOMATION REVOLUTION. CPU MEMORY IS 10,000 12-BIT WORDS AND THE DISK MEMORY IS 128 PAGES OR 300,000 CHARACTERS. THE MONITOR DISPLAYS 1,920 CHARACTERS IN 24 LINES OF 80 CHARACTERS EACH. - Area Notes
