Durham Manufacturing is an example of one of the many small manufacturers that produced cream separators. These companies advertised in farm papers to introduce their prodcut to farmers in the area. Durham Manufacturing was based in Durham, Ontario. - Function
-
TO SEPARATE CREAM FROM MILK BY APPLICATION OF A CENTRIFUGAL SYSTEM - Technical
-
This is an example of a centrifugal cream separator that had baffles in its bowl. The baffles diverted and elongagted the paths of the skim milk and cream through the bowl, resulting in better separation. A well-adjusted baffle bowl separator would leave approximately .1% fat in the skim milk. - Area Notes
