The rolling action of the disc harrow enables it to pulverize and loosen the soil under a variety of conditions. It is excellent for reducing plowed ground that is soddy or to prepare hard & dry soils for plowing. It may also be used to destroy weeds that have grown beyond the capability of the smoothing harrow (ref.1, p.83).
