THIS BELL WAS PART OF AN "AUTOMATIC" FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM. IT WAS WIRED TO AN ELECTRICAL BOX WHICH WAS CONNECTED TO 11EXTINGUISHER MOUNTINGS. THESE HAD FUSIBLE LINKS WHICH MELTED WHEN A PRESET TEMPERATURE WAS EXCEEDED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED A CONNECTION WAS MADE BY WHICH A SWITCH OPENED SENDING A CURRENT TO THE BELL. - Area Notes
