Function: PART OF LIGHTING DEVICE USED TO HIDE LIGHT BULB & DIFFUSE LIGHT INTO SURROUNDING AREA. THESE WERE USED WHEN OLD KERSOSENE LAMPS WERE ELECTRIFIED TO HIDE LAMP BULB.
Technical: LIGHTING DEVICE PART USED AFTERELECTRIFICATION OF KERSOENE LAMPS. OLDER CHIMNEYS ARE FROSTED LIKE THESE WHILE NEWER ONES ARE COATED WITH WHITE ENAMEL.
