This particular camera belonged to the donor, and was a gift from her husband c. 1970. She loved the device as it was simple and used it for many years when travelling. In the 1990s, she bought a new camera with a zoom lens, and retired her Konica C35 EF. She now uses a digital camera (2012). - Function

The Konica C35 EF was the first 35mm compact camera with a built-in flash. The C in the name stands for “compact”, the 35 for 35mm film, and the EF for “electronic flash”. In 1968, Konishiroku released the Konica C35 which was the first in a series of four cameras (C35V, C35 Automatic, and Auto S3). The Konica C35 was the first of a number of compact cameras that swept the marketplace in the early 1970s. Its appeal to the general public was obvious from the start: it was compact, light and simple to use camera with an excellent lens that was distinctly wider than average for the time and took good photographs because it could be focused accurately. - Area Notes
