“Dr. Heidbrink, a dentist, began manufacturing anesthesia equipment by remodeling a Teter Nitrous Oxide Apparatus for his own dental practice. He founded a company that made a wide range of anesthetic equipment; the Heidbrink Company was acquired by The Ohio Chemical & Manufacturing Company in the late 1930s. As a manufacturer and lecturer, Dr. Heidbrink developed professional and personal relationships with a number of well-respected anesthesiologists, including Doctors Elmer I. McKesson (1881-1935), Arthur Guedel (1883-1956), Ralph Waters (1919-1923) and John Lundy (1894-1973).” (ref.2)
