Purchased by R. Massey Williams (1901-1968) c. 1931 and used to screen his first film On to Ungava (LAC ISN 100780). The film documented a 17-month prospecting expedition to the Ungava Bay region of Northern Quebec (now Nunavik) in 1930-31. The projector was used for repeated screenings and public presentations of this film (and other films, which he shot between 1933 and 1938) over several decades. - Function
-
A sprocket used to assist in driving cine film through a projector. This sprocket, with two sets of teeth, is an alternate to the one installed on the projector (.1) which has one set of teeth. - Technical
-
Excellent example of a prosumer-grade projector from the early 16mm amateur cinema era. - Area Notes
