Mr. A.G. Simms was a pilot in Ferry Command between 1942 & 1945 during WWII; he worked as a pilot for a number of airlines in Canada, including the far north. These included Commercial Airways Ltd. before the war from at least 1929, and Canadair & Pacific Western Airlines after the war until at least 1974

In/May 1941, this organization was taken over by the/Ministry of Aircraft Production and later by the Royal/Air Force Ferry Command. When the Royal Air/Force Transport Command was formed in April 1943/the Montreal formation became the headquarters of No./45 Group./From this early date very large numbers of multi-/engined aircraft were ferried from Canada, Bermuda/and the Bahamas across the North and South Atlantic/to many parts of the world by a team of civilian aircrew in/support of the Royal Air Force. This team was disbanded/when victory in Europe was won, and/This Certificate is Presented to/A.G.
