.1 Standards labelled (l to r) "Extra White/ (Export Only)", "White/ (Export and/ Interprovincial)" "Golden/ [Export and/ Interprovincial)", "Light Amber/ (Export Only)" and "Dark Amber/ (Export Only)". Following text also printed on paper label on grader "DOMINION HONEY CLASSIFIER/ [D]IRECTIONS:- Fill a separate tube with honey to be classified and after wiping tube clean insert it between the two standards nearest to matching the sample in colour. Look through the honey at the sky ([illegible]/ su[n] or artificial light). The standards show the greatest amount of colour allowed in each class. Thus should a honey be darker than the standard marked "Extra White" and as light as, or lighter than the [illegible]/ "[W]hite" it will be classified as "White". All honey darker than "Dark Amber" will be classified as "Dark" for export trade. For interprovincial trade the standard marked "Light Amber" shall be designated [illegible]/ honeys darker than this standard will be classed as "Dark"./ -Note:- Do not allow this instrument to freeze.
