FIRST GASOLINE DRIVEN FIRE PUMPS ON MARKET. THEY WERE MADE IN BRANTFORD & ST. PAUL WATEROUS FACTORIES FROM 1898 TO 1910. ONE CYLINDER MODEL WAS CREATED FIRST & WAS RATED AT 175 GPM (GALLONS PER MINUTE). DESIGN TOOK 2 YEARS OF EXPERIMENTAL WORK (1895-1897). IN C. 1913 700 WATEROUS GASOLINE FIRE ENGINES WERE IN SERVICE IN CANADA & USA. - Area Notes
