MFR INCISED STAMP ON BACK: `HUGHES & KIMBER (LIMITED)/ MANUFACTURERS/ LONDON E.C.'/ INCISED IN MIRROR IMAGE ON PRINTING PLATE: Under and by virtue of "The Railway Act of Ontario," and of their special Acts of Incorporation and of all other/ acts and powers enabling them so to do, promise to pay to the Bearer on the First day of November, One thousand eight hundred/ and ninety seven, the sum of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS STERLING at the Office of the Great Western Railway Company of Canada in/ London England, and also Interest thereon half yearly, at the rate of SIX PER CENTUM PER ANNUM on the First days of May and/ November in each year, on presentation and surrender of the annexed Interest Coupons, signed by the Secretary of the/ BRANTFORD, NORFOLK & PORT BURWELL RAILWAY COMPANY as they shall severally become due./ This Bond and the Interest Coupons hereunto attached, with other similar bonds and Coupons whereof the whole principal/ sum is limited to [pound sign] 2465.15.0 Sterling per mile of the Company's Railway are by virtue of the Company's special acts/ of Incorporation, the first and preferential claims and charges, upon its undertaking and property real and personal, now/ existing or at any time hereafter acquired, and by the said acts the holder of this Bond is a Mortgagee and incumbrancer, pro/ rata with all the other holders of the said Bonds limited in amount as aforesaid as upon the undertaking and property aforesaid/ This Bond is issued under the Act of the Ontario Legislature, 37th Victoria , Chapter 53./ Sealed with the seal of the Corporation and signed by the President, and countersigned/ by the Secretary and dated the First day of November, A.D. One thousand eight/ hundred and seventy seven./ Countersigned by/ President Secretary
