THIS IS A WELL MADE, STRONG BRASS GALLEY WHICH WAS PROBABLY DESIGNED ON THE STYLE INTRODUCED BY F. WESEL. THE SIDES OF THE GALLEY ARE INTERLOCKED WITH THE HEAD & THE ENTIRE RIM IS RIVETED TO THEBASE. ADDITIONAL LIPS AT TOP & BOTTOM OF THE RIM GIVE THE GALLEY A 'CHANNELED' FORM, CREATING STRENGTH, DEVELOPMENT: '...RIGIDITY & A CONVENIENT GRIP ARE FOR THE PRINTER. THE GRADUATED HEAD & SIDE PROVIDE AN EXTRA MEASURE OF CONVENIENCE FOR THE PRINTER BEING ABLE TO SEE AT A GLANCE THE MEASURE OF THE JOB WHILE IT TAKES FORM'. - Area Notes
