Technical: DEMONSTRATES SOPHISTICATED CASTING METHODS USED IN 1940S, ALLOWING CASTING TO BE PERFORATED WITH VENTILATING OPENINGS IN RESPONSE TO HIGHER OPERATING TEMPERATURES & ELECTRICAL LOADS OF PERIOD. CHALLENGE WAS TO MAINTAIN END PLATES OF SUFFICIENT STRENGTH WHILE CUTTING AWAY ENOUGH MATERIAL FOR FORCED FLOW VENTILATION (REF. 1)
