- " Registered [logo] Trademark/ 1/4 lb. Poison/ Ether Squibb/ FOR ANESTHESIA (An Alcohol Derivative)/ Æther ; Ethyl Oxide. As Squibb cans have sometimes been refilled with/ inferior ether, see that the sealing cap is intact. To use, cut out the soft/ metal cap, then stopper with a cork. The Squibb Ether is of one quality/ only- the best that can be made for anesthesia. This can is coated/ internally with copper to preserve the contents against deterioration./ NOTE.- The contents of this can should not be used for anesthesia if/ it has been opened and the ether exposed to the air for some time. CAUTION: Ether is highly inflammable. It should be kept in a cool/ place and remote from lights or fire, and be administered only by day- light or by electric light. When using an actual cautery, remove the ether/ inhaler and cover the patient's face with a wet towel. Antidotes: Artificial/ respiration; oxygen; fresh air. (Can U.S. Pat. 1632309, Seal Pat.
