Clock purchased as "keepsake" by donor at the gift boutique at National Research Council's Montreal Rd., Ottawa campus. A large "count-down clock" was placed on the lawn of NRC's Sussex Dr. headquarters: visible to pedestrians and motorists, it operated from summer 1999 to summer 2001. Not a true functioning clock, but a shell with an LCD screen, this giant display screen was run using countdown software. These small alarm clocks were meant to evoke a similar response, and were offered for sale to staff and visitors. [They may also have been available through other outlets, to the public at large]

All clock controls labelled on casing front. "MADE IN CHINA" printed on decal on casing back. "DESIGN PATENT PENDING" cast in raised print, below. Label on base reads "BRYMARK/ PROMOTIONS/ (613) 737-4556". Square decal inside battery compartment reads "Q.C. PASSED/ 9712". Round decal, to right, reads "AWARE/ ICON/ ASI 37658/ PPAC 970416". "+ AA-SIZE-(UM-3) -" printed on both battery placement sites within compartment.
