- Item is a photograph showing a train station at left, windows covered over, unidentified railway buildings, tracks.
- Caption
- "In 1981 the CNR applied for permission to abandon part of their rail line from Smiths Falls to Napanee. This line was first used by the Canadian Northern as its Ottawa to Toronto connection in 1912. The following scenes are of the fine brick station and yard, as of April 1982, before the rails were pulled up. The few freight trains that do come by here are pulled by diesel locomotives and come from Ottawa."
