- New rails were installed in this double-track, rock ballasted section of the Canadian National's main line in record time. Working from seven in the morning until one o'clock in the afternoon, section crews from adjacent points removed old rails and laid two and one half miles of new steel in their place. The job was performed on line, west of Gananoque Junction on the route of fast freight and passenger trains without interference with operation schedules.
