Canada: Purchased by R. Massey Williams (1901-1968) c. 1931 and used to screen his first film On to Ungava (LAC ISN 100780). The film documented a 17-month prospecting expedition to the Ungava Bay region of Northern Quebec (now Nunavik) in 1930-31. The projector was used for repeated screenings and public presentations of this film (and other films, which he shot between 1933 and 1938) over several decades.
Fonction: Device used to trim, prepare and clamp film for tape splice.
Technique: Excellent example of a prosumer-grade projector from the early 16mm amateur cinema era.

Marques: On the knob on the proper front: "[arrow pointing counter-clockwise] OPEN [arrow pointing clockwise] CLOSE"
Manque: Appears complete
Fini: There is a bronze-coloured crackle finish on the majority of the splicer and the proper front of the platform it is attached to. The platform, and parts of the splicer, are grey-brown finished metal, and there are also grey/silver-coloured metal parts and a black metal clamp and black cord or string attached inside. The silver-coloured knob on the proper front has red text.
