The McLaughlin Company of Oshawa, Ontario, was originally a carriage-maker. In 1907, Sam McLaughlin partnered with American William Durant, head of Buick, to form the McLaughlin-Buick Company. In 1918, it officially became GM Canada. McLaughlin built this car to carry the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York on their 1927 Canadian tour. - Function
