READINGS WERE COMPARED WITH READINGS FROM LIVINGSTON ATMOMETER, IN LIVINGSTON UNITS WHICH IN 1930'S WERE SCIENTIFIC STANDARD FOR EVAPORATION. THIS EXAMPLE WAS USED BY FORESTRY SERVICE IN DETERMINING RISK OF FOREST FIRE. - Technical

WRIGHT EVAPORIMETER WAS WIDELY USED BY FOREST PROTECTION AGENCIES UNTIL 1946, WHEN DIRECT READINGS OF WIND, TEMPERATURE & RH REPLACED EVAPORIMETERS.
