Goggles were (and still are) used by aviators all over the world, especially when flying in open cockpits or as aircrew required to be near open windows (ie: waist gunners). The Auer 295s were used by German aviators in the early part of the Second World War. Model 295 has several interesting features including a chin strap (although missing from this pair) to keep them on in the high winds and slip stream, and each lens housing have nine, small ventilation ports to prevent them from fogging up.
